Fill glass with crushed ice. Build gin, lemon juice and simple syrup over. Stir, and then pour blackberry liqueur over in a circular fashion to create marbling effect. Garnish with two blackberries and lemon slice.

History & Origins

Bramble was created in 1984 by Dick Bradsell at Fred's Club in London and is credited as one of the key cocktails of the British cocktail renaissance of the 1980s. Bradsell, a pivotal figure in modern cocktail culture, drew inspiration from the blackberries he picked as a child on the Isle of Wight to create this distinctly British gin cocktail. It was officially inducted into the IBA's New Era Drinks category.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Bright lemon and fresh juniper from the gin, with the sweet, dark berry scent of crème de mûre drifting through. Palate: Tart and citrus-forward initially, with the gin's botanical depth providing body; the blackberry liqueur adds a sweet, jammy berry richness as it mingles with the crushed ice and base.
