El Tequila Slammer es una bebida corta de fiesta muy popular, donde se vierte tequila y jugo de limon o refresco en un vaso de chupito, se cubre con la palma y se golpea fuerte contra la mesa para que la bebida forme burbujas, bebiendo de un solo trago. Esta forma energetica de beber combina perfectamente la ligereza de las burbujas con la intensidad del tequila.
History & Origins
The Tequila Slammer gained widespread popularity in the late 1980s and 1990s, particularly in British nightclub culture, where covering the glass and slamming it on the bar to carbonate the drink was a popular pre-drinking ritual. The drink's specific origin is disputed, though it is associated with the global proliferation of tequila as a party spirit during that period. It is sometimes called the Tequila Boilermaker or simply the Slammer.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Tequila's agave and slight earthiness with the sweet citrus of 7-Up. Palate: Sweet and citrusy from the 7-Up, with tequila's agave character providing an alcoholic punch; the carbonation creates a slightly rough, fizzy texture when consumed quickly. Finish: Brief and fiery with a clean agave and citrus note.
Pro Tip
Maintain an equal ratio of tequila to 7-Up and cover the glass before slamming to properly carbonate the mixture just before drinking.
