History & Origins
Pure Passion is a contemporary craft cocktail of disputed origin that emerged in the 2000s and 2010s alongside the widespread adoption of Passoa passion fruit liqueur in European bar menus and the growing craft cocktail culture's enthusiasm for tropical flavour profiles. The use of peach bitters reflects the modern bartender's toolkit of aromatic bitters as flavour modulators. No single creator or venue is definitively credited.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Intensely tropical with dominant passion fruit from both the Passoa and syrup, fresh lime zest, rum warmth, and a delicate peach floral note from the bitters with mint adding a fresh green top note.
