조리법

Place the coffee and spices in the filter cone of your coffee maker. Brew coffee as usual, let it cool. In a tall glass, dissolve 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar in an ounce of the coffee (it's easier to dissolve than if you put it right over ice). Add 5-6 ice cubes and pour coffee to within about 1 inch of the top of the glass. Rest a spoon on top of the coffee and slowly pour whipping cream into the spoon. This will make the cream float on top of the coffee rather than dispersing into it right away.

NonAlcoholic Warm Sweet

Thai Coffee

History & Origins

Thai Coffee is rooted in the culinary traditions of Thailand, where cardamom and coriander are used as coffee spices in a style influenced by historical trade connections with the Arab world and South Asia. The practice of adding whole spices to the coffee filter before brewing is common across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. While not a cocktail, Thai Coffee appears on beverage menus as a non-alcoholic specialty drink representing authentic Thai café culture.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Bold roasted coffee with a distinctive floral-citrusy cardamom note and a subtle earthiness from the coriander. Palate: Strong coffee bitterness softened by sugar, with cardamom providing a warming, floral spice and coriander adding a gentle herbal depth; whipped cream melts in to add richness. Finish: Warm and aromatic with lingering cardamom and coffee.

Pro Tip

Brew the coffee double-strength to account for dilution over the iced presentation, and dissolve the sugar in a small amount of hot coffee before combining with ice.
