Everyone’s favourite Paloma gets a delicious Indian makeover. Tequila reposado infused with “Timur Pepper” which has citrusy & grapefruit notes and is grown at the foothills of Himalaya. It also produces a slightly numbing and tingling sensation on your lip when consumed. We have also spiced up the fresh grapefruit juice with the warming spice blend from Himalaya. The combination of all these interesting elements has allowed us to elevate your Paloma sipping experience.
The Winter Paloma is a cold-weather take on the classic Mexican Paloma, combining reposado tequila with grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and a dash of pepper, served over ice in a highball glass. The pepper addition and agave syrup (rather than simple syrup) give it a warming, slightly spicy character appropriate to colder seasons. The name references an Indian-spiced adaptation using Timur pepper from the Himalayas.
History & Origins
The Paloma is one of Mexico's most beloved cocktails, traditionally made with tequila and grapefruit soda (Jarritos or Squirt), though the fresh juice version has become widely adopted in craft cocktail bars. The Winter Paloma variation with Timur pepper represents a contemporary fusion adaptation, combining the classic Mexican base with a Himalayan spice found in Indian cuisine. The specific recipe's origin is disputed, though it reflects the early 21st-century trend of global spice integration in cocktails.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Tequila's agave earthiness with fresh grapefruit and lime citrus and a distinctive peppery, citrusy note from the Timur pepper. Palate: Tart and refreshing from the grapefruit and lime, with agave syrup adding a natural sweetness and tequila's earthy agave character providing body; the pepper adds a warming, citrusy spice. Finish: Dry, slightly spicy, and refreshing with lingering grapefruit and pepper warmth.
Pro Tip
Salt the rim of the glass before building the drink to add a savory counterpoint that accentuates the grapefruit's natural bitterness.
